Mother Nature, I've got a bone to pick with you!

So my favorite (favorite because of it's easy access) greenbelt entrance is bone dry! The access point is called Gus Fruh Park or what I like to call Old Man's Hole. It's in south Austin and when it's full it is a beautiful oasis that wants nothing more than to get you wet. That Old Man's Hole is one sexy bastard. But this is what it looks like now, so bring your own God damned water.

Tuesdays are Booze Days.

If you are looking for a shaded spot with a great menu and beer selection on the east side, look no further. Yellow Jacket Social Club treated me well today as I sat underneath what felt like a mini orchard of crepe myrtles. Surrounding the patio are groups of bamboo and giant succulents offering the perfect mixture privacy and tranquility amongst the bustling traffic on 5th street.

Hank Williams and Merle Haggard kept me company over a couple of $3 Thirsty Goat pints and a ham and gruyere grilled sandwich. Delicious.I watched the light rail sail by a few times before having to leave for vocal practice. Not too shabby for a Tuesday afternoon.
